Bikini mountaineering
Exploring the “Grand Canyon” of Lower Austria
A devastating hot summer day. The decision between a climbing session and visiting overcrowded swim areas was to hard to take. Zinkenschlucht, a canyon in Lower Austria was an accomplished combination and definitely the best choice to make.
We started at the storage reservoir Erlaufstausee and climbed down to the lowest point of the dam and hiked along the river. After 15 minutes of stone block hopping we arrived at the first spot where we had to walk through the water. If you are thinking of taking off shoes and rolling up trousers you are off the track. Bikinis, swimming trunks and flip-flops was just enough to get us through deep spots and slippery stones.
If you don’t believe me, just look at the pictures! 😉
